Singaporean Man Fined for Forging Death Certificate

A Singaporean man was assessed at a million dollars due to fabricating his grandfather's death certificate in order to obtain a paid work permit. He was assessed to have a total of 4000 dollars at the age of 29 due to the charge of fabricating the death certificate of one of his relatives with the intent of committing fraud.

While working as a financial operations consultant, Jouban discovered that his friend had betrayed him, which adversely affected his mental health. He was unable to focus on his work and decided to apply for a paid work permit citing his grandfather's death in India.

Due to the insistence of his superiors, Jouban decided to submit a fraudulent death certificate for representation. After resigning at a later time, he realized that his lies would easily be exposed. When his supervisor requested his grandfather's death certificate, the matter escalated and restrictions increased.

Instead of confession, Jouban resorted to fabricating another death certificate in his grandfather's name and sent a copy to his supervisor. Unfortunately, the supervisor requested a complete copy of the original document and indicated the fraud in order to assess Jouban at a total of 4000 dollars only.
